Real-Time Face Detection using OpenCV

Applications that need instant face recognition can benefit from real-time face detection utilising OpenCV, a method for recognising faces in a video feed or image stream while it is being taken. Deep learning models and Haar Cascade Classifiers are two techniques provided by the popular open-source computer vision library OpenCV that effectively identify faces in every frame of a live video. OpenCV’s VideoCapture() function records the video feed and converts each frame to greyscale for quicker processing in order to set up real-time face detection. By identifying patterns and characteristics and labelling them with bounding boxes in the output display, OpenCV recognises faces using a pre-trained face detection model.
